Shadow of the earth, the ides of June…full moon lunar eclipse June 15th 2011

Emotional eclipse time! Like a total eclipse of the heart, the shadow of the earth, will fully cross the lunar surface, this ides of June. This leads us into the solstice, a week later. It is a powerful time of year anyhow, when we review, how our year is taking shape and also amend, what needs to be shifted, in order to resemble what we envision, for the rest of our year. The total lunar eclipse leaves the moon naked and vulnerable. She is willing us now, to find out what’s deep in our hearts and for us to, also bravely show the world, our vulnerability and naked selves. She is conjunct the north node of our destiny and, in joining forces on this point she is showing us truly, where we want to go. On the opposite side of the axis Sol, is making a conjunction to mercury and the south node of our collective past. This is bringing to light where our thinking is wrong and what we need to let go of, in order to make amends with our futures. It’s a time of choice, change and letting go, but it’s also a time of wonder, joy and renewal, no wonder we are all a bit waked.

In the eclipse chart most of the planets, centurs and asteroids are in the northern hemisphere during the eclipse. This tells of collective experiences, not personal ones so what ever happens, from here, over the next six months of the projected eclipse period, it is happening to us all. We are all sharing the blame, the pain, the struggle and the survival. Eventually we will emerge like the phoenix and all of us together reap the rewards of this experience, our destinies, dreams, forward movement, newness, excitement, joy and resolution. Are you ready for it?

This chart is a very busy chart, and that means we will be busy also, everyone’s running around madly and everyone’s got an agenda, just watch out. The eclipse itself, takes place across the First/seventh house axis. These houses speak of self and partners and it’s here, we head it off. Again the boarder collective is the theme, so don’t take it personal. We are all getting the full experiential leaning curve here, and then some… so take it easy be gentle with yourself and others if possible…as everyone is digging down hard on this one, to come out with better relating skills and a more peaceful cohabitation of this blue planet we share.

Firstly Venus is on the ascendant, in the chart, for this eclipse (here in Australia). So she colors this eclipse with her special loving values and sensibilities, she’s got her sister moons back, at this time, remember the moon is vulnerable, but Venus is strong in the first house, and she is feisty and independent, going fast through Gemini, its time to talk truth her truth the way she sees it. Venus being in the sign of the twins, so Its like the universe is asking us to meditate on our two loves, The love of self and the self in love, trying to find the balance between the two is tricky for all of us, but Venus is running this gauntlet and showing us these things, like who do we love? Who do we love the most? Ourselves? Our world? Our lovers? Who is important? How do we justify our love? What can we share with each other about love? And such….Venus is telling us the answers to all these questions and asking us to hear her. She also telling us she will no longer play, selfless love victim, with her square to Neptune (higher love) conjunct (joined) Chiron (our earthly wounding). She’s got new ideas, and not afraid to tell us so and choose herself and go it alone, but not in a selfish way!

Like a super human modern feminist, Venus in Gemini loves herself and values her ideals. If life doesn’t fit into her vision, she simply won’t have it, and she moves on. Nothing….not fantasy, not woundedness, not wanderlust and not some hot and heavy Mars will stop her, in that quest for true love…. The love she finds in herself. These ideas are germinating and gaining ground in the collective, they will manifest in our lives later in the year, as this eclipse chart has a range of six months or more, so we can expect to be dealing, with these issues, over this period.

There are two grand trines in this chart that should get a mention, one is an air trine and the other is an earth trine. The first is involves Saturn (responsibility), Venus (our love) and Pallace Athena (feminine warrior), This is favorable for solidifying these Venusians ideals, its time for the feminine to step up to the plate and fight for what she believes, no more waiting as Saturn stations direct, she is moving forward and her time is now with Pallace in this trine also with Saturn, this will get serious.
With our humanity in mind, these to feminine planets get tough and really work on them selves they are going to manifest their true selves, weather anyone likes it or not and they will work hard on this over the next six months, it’s a time pregnant with possibilities, as long as we do the work.

The other grand trine is with Juno (soul mates), Sedna (deep feeling feminine) and the Vertex (higher path), making an earth trine to each other. This placement grounds us, and our wants and needs come to the for, our deepest feelings surface about, who we belong with and what will bring us the greatest happiness. These planets are joining to truly manifest something real in all our lives, making us hold out for the best and brightest and highest realities, but it may also mean leaving some not so good realities behind, if we want the doors to our futures to open and allow us to move into that reality.

Jupiter is sextiling mercury and the sun so expect lots of expansion around communication and things to come to light. Information that you didn’t have before will be available, and from this point your able to make a more informed decision based on these new truths presented. Speaking of mercury, he is talking with everyone he can, in the first house he is the trickster he is on a mission to pick up, fight, love, hate, and settle scores. He is actually in favorable aspect to some of the feminine planets that mars is picking a fight with and at the same time he is squaring off to some of the planets mars is in cahoots or favorable negotiations with. And although mars and mercury don’t actually have an aspect to each other this speaks of underhandedness towards each other, old resentments surface, secrets lies and manipulation, so all these things you though were hidden or would never change come out under this eclipse. We get a chance to expose them and evict them from our lives. This makes Mars and the masculine, very confused as to where to step and he sits in the 12th house hidden sulky, frustrated and frozen. To help him come out of his cave, it would be well to make sure we try to reach out to the mars in your life, weather in yourself or in someone else, and try to let them know that there is such a thing as forgiveness, and understanding.

Luna is making very favorable aspects to some of mercury’s friends here and squaring some of Mars’s. She is making it clear who’s side she is on, and even though Merc and Moon are opposing each other across the elliptical, they are communicating positively on some level with Pallace (feminine warrior), Vesta (hearth and home goddess) Chiron (essential wounds) and Neptune (Higher love). Mercury and moon are constructively communicating about these themes, to each other, and are coming to an agreement of sorts, about essential issues; where we want to belong…. who we want to be with….what steps we take to get there……and how do we let go of our wounds. They will come to a relatively peaceful consensus and a calm mood will prevail. Giving us a sense of establishing the heart mind balance, we all so very much need in these times. As always the planets reflect our selves and we reflect the planets, so keep that in mind when you are compelled to act out this full moon.

And they all come tumbling down…….. But we are still here….. And there’s nothing but blue skies…..

The eclipse season is here, this time with three in a row, over a month of deep learning. Here we go, maybe you can feel it? Everyone is wild about something or other, death, babies, taxes, love, joy and surrender, its all there and becoming glaringly obvious…..

We begin this month with a new moon partial eclipse at 11 degrees Gemini, everyone has different ideas of how to get to the same vision, the month begins with the energy signature of truth and lies, love and hate, what we want in our lives and what we don’t…Its all a bit hard to chew and swallow and grasp really and people are balking at the idea of some seemingly insurmountable factors which seem immovable, yet sometimes just changing attitudes and looking to the highest vision and at the same time, keeping calm, will remedy this.

There is an element of fate about this eclipse with ascendant in Scorpio and an exact conjunct to the part of fortune we feel it deeply and secrets are revealed as these deep feelings surface for us, its time to look at the truth and maintain our highest vision for our futures. What is being brought up here is about our very lively hoods, both collective and individual, especially surrounding our material values and our possessions and what we share, who we share it with, what we have, what is ours what is theirs and what’s not in balance and what’s on a knife edge.

As we step into the future of this month it seems we are fighting ourselves and each other for an appreciation of what is really important and how I lives will look if we balance it right, if we can manage to be responsible and hold it together through this eclipse period we will get to the other side leaner, meaner and stronger, but we need to learn to share the load, its too much responsibility to do it alone, look to the person next to you and seek to help or ask for some assistance and some reprieve and lets not be harsh on each other. We are appealing to all of humanity to seek compromise and compassion above fighting and adversity. We will be coming together, even in not the most ideal circumstances, to continue to enjoy what we hold dear and all this is pointing us to the future. Share and be kind to those around you and things will turn out as they need to ; don’t and they wont, that is the message here.

This is absolutely the time to be responsible for ourselves and one another, because who is next to us, is us, wells of compassion come to the surface during this eclipse. Compassion for ourselves, the planet and each other, through adversity brings a heightened awareness of what we share in common and the what gifts we can bring to the common good of all, how we can live together and then go forward from there into a new day bringing this lesson with us, watch out it maybe a pretty tough lesson for some……

This is also a time for stripping back all non-essential baggage and getting to the truth of what we want in our lives, it wont be easy…… but necessary, and we will have to rely on faith and hold onto our purest vision. There is a lovely kite formation involving Saturn, MC, Vesta and the Luminaries on the eclipse point and it is pointing to our future goals and ambitions, if we can talk to each other reason things out in partnerships, be responsible and at the same time maintain our integrity, We are going there…into a bright new future, nothing but blue skies. This is about optimism and hard work, as well as compromising with the ones we love and sometimes with the ones we don’t.

The feminine is on track, she is helping to pave the way, with her lovely vision of the future, with Venus in Taurus promoting calm and peace. Mars is also in Taurus, at Venuses house so to speak. …Hmmm… and they are in the seventh house of partnerships, so this may be a time to get together with the one you love and forget about your troubles and enjoy life even if its just for some slight reprieve, for a moment or a day.

Mars is also trining Pluto, taking all the change in his stride and really coming into his own, no longer fighting, but surrendering to a new way of being for himself and keeping his head and heart on track. He is really making headway to the heart and towards how his vision fits the whole, in this unstable world we are living in. This is really making Venus happy and they are both trining juno, the soul mate asteroid, so both are making good on their promise to get along and enjoy the time they spend together amidst the failing, crushing, circumstances that surround them, its like they are sticking together through thick and thin, propping each other up and really learning the value of one another.

I guess this eclipse is about graciousness in adversity, looking for the positives, in and tumultuous changing world around us, finding the beauty and promoting it. Taking this vision and spreading it far and wide, no matter how bad things look we can be thankful and appreciate what we do have…… instead of wanting more all the time, and at what cost to those around us? Life is hard sometimes, but there is so much beauty in it and its time to teach our selves to hold on to that.

There is hope..... the rules are changing. Full Moon Libra 2011

Our thoughts turn to our relationships this full moon and especially our commitment to those we hold dear. Is it working for us or against us? We are asking ourselves some important questions with regards to our connections and reviewing them, as to if they are living up to what we envision.

With Saturn (restriction) and Luna (nurture) in Libra, the sign of partnerships and balance, forming a conjunction, they are having it out with each other and trying to find a compromise in the balance. The moon is at her peak this full moon and still very close to the earth, so she has a lot of persuasive powers, acting for her and Saturn is in retrograde, meaning he is retracting and looking for change, which is saying something as, Saturn doesn’t do change to well at the best of times.

But the winds of change are blowing again, can you feel it? Autumn in the south and Spring in the north. The wind changed last week literally, did you feel it?

As mercury (our thoughts) is in retrograde, forming an opposition with mother moon and father time, along with a host of other planets (Mars, Jupiter, Sun) forming a stellium in Aries, the fiery sign of independence, there is a lot of opposition and tempers could flare and feelings will be aroused, at this time, it is an emotionally volatile mix with a lot of activity and opposition. We have things to say to those people in our lives who matter, about our needs and wants, but things may get a little heated or edgy. This needs to happen, just make sure its relayed with good intentions and tact, the key here is new forms of communication and keeping true to the self but with the others self also in mind. Really we are reviewing our commitments and rethinking and restructuring them.

We may be looking at why we are here in these partnerships and how we can structure them to give us more freedom and to still be realigned to our vision, of how we want to live our lives. Regardless of whether we are looking for an escape or to recommit to a primary relationship, these independence vs. commitment issues are being rethought and rewritten, to align with our futures. We have a lot to say to each other, at this time and the rules are changing….

However, there is hope… its just a little tight and scary and in your face…. and while these planets are having it out with each other, we should be mindful that this is a process that needs to happen, like that conversation we don’t want to have, but has to take place in order to move forward, once again, and we will feel all the better for it, after the fact. All relationships will be affected and are under pressure, family, friends, loved ones, as well as workplace relations. There will be changes to structure and power struggles to come…. remaining true to our integrity and ourselves may well just see us through.

Luna is also trine to Neptune newly in Pisces during this full moon asking him to reflect her light through the oceans of feelings he is swimming through, she is appealing to him to be her emissary, as she is being bombarded in opposition to her plight with all those rough house boys in Aries, Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter in stellium are really trying as a group to break free and cut them selves off, go rouge. She hopes to get a message to the sun, as the leader and more level headed of the pack and Neptune will be the one to bring it as he forms a sextile to sol, making the lady lunas intentions known for her amid the ruckus. Her intentions state balance and calm above all else…. and selfish desires will not be tolerated, we need to learn to work and live together. Or something along those lines.

With another eclipse season looming, we get need to get clear…. it has been a hot and heavy few months astrologically, like the surface under our emotional and spiritual feet is shifting, just like physically with earth quakes and tsunamis it has literally been, so is it with ourselves…but we are about to break new ground. No longer content with the status quo, Pluto forms a T square across the axis of this full moon and this long term formation with Saturn (constriction) Jupiter (expansion) and Pluto (breaking down) will bring with it irrevocable change to all aspects of our lives. We are asked to look at what we want and at our close ties, before we bust open all the other outdated and constrictive structures we have been living under for too long, 2011 full moon in Libra, gets us clear on ourselves and those around us first.

This full moon, all our old out dated attitudes of realating and commitments are finally going to be given their marching orders and the space that this creates in our lives will give us a new platform from which to grow new commitments, new ideas, and new beauty...... its kind of saying..... Let it go , and let's go.

Answers to some difficult questions......

These are some answers to some questions a reader posted in relation to my eclipse blog.......

There is so much happening, so so much out there and inside of us all, just look at the news and our own lives and the lives of the people around us, for the prof that this is so...... and I don't think it is just due to this time of year either. I think maybe time is speeding up, there are a lot of shifts going on and basically, astro event after astro event, propelling us into these shifts...... if you believe in it, it makes sense, macro/micro that sort of stuff, but its all happening rather fast and rather consecutively so much so that its hard to ignore, at least for me.

Answers your questions........

In fact so much feminine.... is that (basically) largely due to the eclipse?

The short answer is YES and NO.... lol, I am not sure it is due to the eclipse, a lot of astrology is masculine based IE, most of the planets are masculine..... I tend to look at the asteroids as well, which are feminine in archetype, so I see and talk about the feminine aspects a lot , to balance it out so to speak. But what we are dealing with is very strong placements of feminine bodies making a lot of aspects to this eclipse, working beneficially and I think that the cosmos or astro climate is asking us to work it out, or balance out the feminine.

Remember the feminine is not really womankind in general, its actually the inner parts of ourselves the parts we keep hidden, and the parts we think are not worthy of our support and love and compassion, this eclipse points to bring this out in the open and facing this disease of humanity in a beneficial cathartic way, in order for us to assess, look at, redefine and redetermine the way in which we will relate to these parts of ourselves in the future. It could express itself differently in each of our lives, changing the structure and the dynamics of our reality forever, if we pay attention and respect that this is a process that is taking ourselves to the next level of our humanity, for our planet, each other, our society and its wrongs and abuses to the feminine, IE bullying, greed, selfishness, etc.

The feminine is asking us to see these wrongs and try to make them into rights, knowing that what we do to others, we are ultimately doing to ourselves. This eclipse makes it clear and all the feminine here is supporting us to tell our story in an uplifting cathartic way, to the benefit of balancing out these problems once and for all. One way to do this in yourself would be to get in touch and treat ourselves and our love ones in our lives with respect and honesty, being willing to be vulnerable.......the dynamics of the relationship of masculine and feminine are changing and if we get right with this balance we could all see an altered reality, and ultimately a better life for ourselves and the planet.

Do you think this is the lull (time to breathe) before the storm though?

Um, Yes and NO .I don't think it is, it is a little breather for sure, but not before a storm, for all, only for some, it depends on what reality bases each of us are coming from, if we are doing the work and getting on board with what needs to be balanced in this process things should be fine, but if we are not then I am afraid some may experience this as the perfect storm!!!

The main thing is this is the beginning of the shift, there are big changes a foot in the world at large and in our own individual selves, As weather we believe it or not this astrologically is the beginning of the shift of the ages, the Age of Aquarius.

Big change can be a difficult process, its messy and its scary and can be a lot like birth, we will see this expressed in our world especially in the news and in mother earth....... they key is here, is that things that need to change will and things that don't won't, I think, so as far as a storm coming Yes and in the outer world Yes, but if we maintain our vigilance and balance inside ourselves to not get swept up in it, and act with integrity and maintain our connection to our selves, and our centers, then NO.
